Collagen and metabolism reduces greatly as we age, so what’s the best method to fight these “reductions” ?
Vaser Liposuction and Nano fat grafting procedure!
What is Vaser Liposuction?
VASER LipoSelection® is a power-assisted liposuction technique. It is called LipoSelection because the vibrations from ultrasonic waves are used to selectively break up fat deposits. The broken-up fat deposits are much easier to suck out. As such, VASER makes the task of liposuction easier. The final results as with any form of liposuction still depend on the skill and experience of the surgeon.
How long will it take to recover from the procedure?
Here are my consultation and procedure
My thoughts on the procedure. I get a lot of questions on why is there a need to do liposuction when perhaps exercise and diet might just be another alternative, why do I choose to go through an operation to get my “fats” out. The reason for liposuction is not only for fat reduction, but more to get shapely thighs. Yes, I could probably go on a diet and exercise but it might not work as well as I do not get a targeted fat reduction.
What I need most is the confidence booster to show a shapely pair of legs when I am doing my Bachata dance. Aside from the liposuction, I must admit that the pull factor has to be the Nano fat grafting procedure.
What is Nano fat grafting?
To put it in layman terms, it is a process whereby fats are taken out through liposuction usually from unshapely parts of our body- such as tighs, tummy etc and thereafter the removed fats are processed through three levels of filtration and injected back into the face or targeted area. Think of it as a filler to improve the skin quality in the face.
How is the procedure done?
The procedure involves harvesting fat from the abdomen or the inner thighs under local anaesthetic – essentially a mini-liposuction.
The fat is then cleaned, filtered and separated into different size cells – MilliFat, MicroFat or NanoFat. The larger fat cells are used to revolumize and lift the face, using a technique that Dr David Loh published. The technique has been commonly called the DL Lift.
The smallest of the fat cells are the Nanofat. They are used for the reduction of lines and wrinkles. Or for general skin quality improvements.
During the whole process from extraction, filtration to re-injection, the fat cells are completely free from environmental contamination (scientific jargon: closed system). We have a patented closed system for nanofat injections.
Post procedure, there will be some bruising and discomfort in the donor area (the area where fat was harvested). This may take a few days to a week to recover. The overall discomfort is generally mild.
The face where the fat has been grafted will also be slighted swollen (about 20% bigger, I would say), and be slightly tender (sore to touch). Some bruising is to be expected, but again the overall recovery process is quite comfortable.
1 day after, back to clinic for follow up
wound cleaning by the nurse
3 days after, face instantly look brighter but slighted swollen (about 20% bigger)
at the 4th day, the condition of the bruise will be more obvious
7th day back to the clinic again for Radiofrequency (RF) treatments
Radiofrequency (RF) energy can also be used to heat the skin and trigger collagen production. In contrast to ultrasound, RF focuses on epidermal layers to achieve a firmer, smoother appearance.
Fast facts about RF skin tightening:
• FDA cleared options can treat the face, neck, hands, and body
• Treatments can be performed in-office, typically involve little to no discomfort, and require no downtime
• Most RF-only treatments are safe for all skin types
• Results appear gradually over several months following treatment
Afterthoughts: There are many questions on why I have chosen to do my procedure with David Loh surgery when there are tons of aesthetic clinics out there. because David Loh Surgery is located at Novena Medical Center. The center offers an array of supporting medical facilities and services such as radiology and lab services and day surgery. Novena Medical Center is centrally located with barrier-free access via MRT, taxi, and buses. Parking for private cars is available within the building. it makes me feel so much safer and convenient!
when In the operating room, an anesthesiologist are responsible for the medical management and anesthetic care of the patient throughout the duration of the surgery. … monitors the patient’s vital signs: heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and breathing.
I will like to stress that I view the importance of follow-ups. I strongly feel that aesthetic surgery is not just about the operation. I need doctors to follow up with me on my recovery journey, which the doctors at David Loh did so well.
I could probably proceed with a cheaper alternative in say Korea but I do not want to deal with scars or discomfort. It’s really nice knowing that I have a medical team of doctors and nurses to support me throughout my recovery. I have read many horror stories of patients left to be stranded without any medical help/attention and have to spend more if the surgery botches.
I will be writing about my follow sessions with Dr Phoon in my next post.
Stay tune ! Xoxo
